During this pandemic I learned that I actually can enjoy recording music at home as apposed to performing live. What I also learned is that I can’t stand listening back, mixing and most of all mastering. So in frustration while trying to put together an LP for a label that had already been waiting months for it, I asked the world to take this punishing task off my hands and published a cache of 26.54 ghz of unedited material online that I had recorded in the previous months and hadn’t bothered or had time to review myself.

I had several responses whom downloaded my mess of files and returned to me these edited, mixed and mastered improvisations, unfortunately after all their efforts I in the meantime discovered modular and abruptly started selling my pedals as I dug deep into envelope followers and CV controllable effects. Due to this change I decided to make new recordings for the album so the final vinyl release will represent this new direction.

Not wanting these efforts to go to waste I decided to release my favourite responses, as it turned out very interesting to see how my fans interpreted the work. The period of pandemic recordings represented here were all over the place sound wise as I tried to develop new sounds for the LP experimenting with complex pedal configurations that sometimes had up to six parallel chains; a process that would ultimately result in me going modular. So please enjoy random amalgamation of pandemic recordings that may represent my final fling with stand alone guitar pedals that I’m calling the BUM NOLA series.
