Been recording a lot of my rehearsals and experimental patch ideas direct to recycled cassettes as I prepare for my upcoming USA tour. The plan was to sell these editions of one cassettes during the tour which unfortunately has been delayed due to VISA issues so thought seeing I’m now coughing up even more money rescheduling flights etc that I offer them up to you as mail-order for US$50 a tape. All these tapes are original master copies and I have not made copies for myself, if you buy one you can do whatever you like with the material, sample it, sing over it as karaoke, or even release it on your label (although if you do this I’d appreciate copies). The recordings on this bandcamp collection called ‘Spoiler Alert’ were recorded on two evenings in early June 2023 (plus a bonus track I found on my SD card from 22 ‘Pump up the Ham’) to give you an example of what you might expect to hear on your edition of one tape (however they could be extremely different). Basically, each night I’ve been recording on one side of each tape a complete unedited improvisation and these recordings done over two nights are an example of where I am at the moment. The sessions have mostly been me experimenting with different ways of exploiting CV derived from my glass signal with various envelope followers to bend said signal throughout parallel signal chains run through two sets of Mungo D0 and G0’s, the results represent what you might expect to get if you order one but results can be and have been radically different from patch to patch / tape to tape .
All Tapes come with original art by Ernie Zoze which are not dissimilar to this cover image

each track uses the fact that its digital hardcore in its own unique way each time, rarely sounding similar to the other despite generally being noisy and in your face. i find this to be especially helped by Machine Girl's usage of unique samples or their own voices, which i can barely understand but honestly it really adds to the charm and aesthetic of this release. i know this album is 7 years old at the time of writing this, but it still holds up incredibly well.
